Anxiety is really just a pain in the behind, let’s all agree with that. However, acknowledging its annoyance doesn’t actually deal with how it disrupts our lives on a regular basis. Whenever I feel it creeping up the 3-key things I do to help me combat it.
1. I affirm who I am in Christ by reading the word of God and do what He instructs.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4 vs 6 (NIV)
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1 – 7 (NKJV)
2. I pray for peace.
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4 vs 7 (NIV)
3. I worship.
“He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” – Deuteronomy 10 vs 21 (NIV)
